Sanrio Announces Adorable New Rhythm Game "Kawaii Me Live!"

Sanrio has officially announced its first original smartphone game under the Sanrio Games label, with the rhythm title Sanrio Kawaii Me Live! scheduled to launch worldwide in 2027.

Sanrio Kawaii Me Live! was officially revealed during the results presentation for the 2026 Sanrio Character Ranking event, giving fans their first look at the company’s newest interactive experience.

Kawaii Me Live! will allow players to enjoy rhythm-based gameplay alongside their favorite Sanrio characters while performing to a collection of songs inspired by the beloved franchise.

Players will also be able to customize character outfits and decorate performance stages, creating personalized live shows featuring their favorite Sanrio stars.

To suit different styles of play, the game includes two different gameplay modes.

Performance Mode is designed for more casual players, allowing them to enjoy the music and character dance performances through simple controls.

Players looking for a greater challenge can instead tackle Technical Mode, which offers more demanding rhythm gameplay with higher-difficulty songs.

Ahead of launch, Sanrio has also revealed several tracks that will appear in the game’s soundtrack.

These include the Game Remix version of KAWAII FESTIVAL, originally featured in Sanrio Puroland’s Miracle Gift Parade before the attraction concluded in November 2025, along with Game Remix versions of Welcome to this World of Dream and Manmaru Light.

Additional songs confirmed for the launch lineup include Kuromi’s Greedy Greedy, Pompompurin & Muffin’s Pompom Beat☆, Meromero♡My Melody, and Romantic Banana Parfait.

Before the game’s full release, Sanrio will hold a Japan-exclusive closed beta test to gather player feedback and further refine the experience ahead of launch.

Applications for the closed beta are available through the official Sanrio Kawaii Me Live! website via a lottery system running from June 28 until July 7, 2026.

Successful applicants will be able to participate in the beta test between July 15 and July 21, 2026.

Sanrio Kawaii Me Live! is currently scheduled to launch globally in 2027 as a free-to-play title for iOS and Android devices, which will feature optional in-game purchases, with further release details expected to be announced at a later date.
