Resident Evil Requiem Headlines Universal Studios Japan’s Biggest Halloween Horror Nights Yet

Resident Evil is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a major new collaboration at Universal Studios Japan, where the series’ latest game will headline one of this year’s biggest Halloween attractions.
Resident Evil, known as Biohazard in Japan, first launched in 1996 and helped define the survival horror genre, growing into one of Capcom’s biggest franchises through its games, movies and multimedia adaptations.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, Universal Studios Japan will introduce “Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive,” an all-new horror maze inspired by the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem, placing guests directly inside the terrifying world of the series.
The attraction is set inside the Renwood Hotel and a medical facility recreated with Universal Studios Japan’s signature attention to detail, where horrifying creatures will attack from every direction throughout the experience.

Designed as an R15 attraction, the maze promises an intense horror experience where guests will be relentlessly pursued by grotesque monsters emerging from above, below and all around them, creating a constant sense of tension with almost no opportunity to recover.
Universal Studios Japan describes the experience as an uninterrupted nightmare where the next scare is impossible to predict, recreating the atmosphere and fear of Resident Evil Requiem in a fully immersive environment.

The attraction forms part of this year’s Halloween Horror Nights, which celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2026 after first launching in 2011 and becoming one of Japan’s most popular seasonal theme park events.
This year’s event promises its most extreme lineup yet, combining large-scale street horror experiences with attractions based on internationally recognized franchises, including Resident Evil Requiem and several popular anime series.

Visitors can also expect specially themed park decorations that transform Universal Studios Japan into a much darker setting throughout the Halloween season, with horror experiences spread across multiple areas of the park.
Away from Universal Studios Japan, Resident Evil’s anniversary celebrations will continue later this year with “THE WORLD OF BIOHAZARD 30th Anniversary Exhibition,” the franchise’s first large-scale exhibition, opening at Shibuya BEAM Gallery in Tokyo and showcasing the series’ history across 56 days.

“Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive” will run at Universal Studios Japan from September 11 until December 27, 2026, while Halloween Horror Nights itself will take place from September 11 until November 8, 2026.
Advance ticket lottery applications for “THE WORLD OF BIOHAZARD 30th Anniversary Exhibition” are currently available exclusively to Resident Evil Portal members, with applications open from July 3 through July 19, 2026, ahead of the exhibition’s opening on October 30, 2026.
