Pre-orders open as popular “Gundam Wing” Gunpla kits get a re-release

BANDAI SPIRITS has announced the re-release of several exclusive Gunpla model kits from the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing series.
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, first airing in 1995, is a popular anime series from the Gundam franchise and is particularly popular in Western markets.
Known for its five distinct Gundam protagonists, intricate political storylines, and dramatic combat sequences, Gundam Wing expanded the franchise’s appeal beyond traditional Gundam fans.

The series later spawned original video animations (OVAs) like Endless Waltz and various other manga and light novel spin-offs.
The spin-off included ‘Mobile Suit Gundam Wing DUAL STORY G-UNIT’ (published in English as Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: The Last Outpost) and ‘Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz – Glory of the Losers’, which further expanded its universe and introduced new Mobile Suit designs.

Gunpla, short for “Gundam plastic model”, are collectible model kits based on the Gundam anime series.
BANDAI SPIRITS continually releases new kits across various grades, which offer different build difficulty levels.
The “High Grade (HG)” line offers scale models that are relatively easy to assemble while providing good detail and articulation, whilst the “Master Grade (MG)” line provides more complex and detailed scale models with intricate internal frames.

This wave of re-releases features the following range of popular Mobile Suits and accessories from across the Gundam Wing continuity:
HG 1/144 Vayeate & Mercurius

This twin-pack of model kits features two Mobile Suits from the original Mobile Suit Gundam Wing series, known for their powerful beam cannons (Vayeate) and defensive system (Mercurius).

This pair of Gunpla kits will be priced at 4,180 yen (approx. $29.05 USD / £21.56 GBP).

HG 1/144 Leo-R

MG 1/100 Mobile Suit Gundam Wing EW Series Expansion Parts Set (Glory of the Losers Version)

They are specifically designed to replicate the unique weapon configurations and details found in the Glory of the Losers manga.

The parts set is priced at 3,520 yen (approx. $24.47 USD / £18.16 GBP).

The re-release of these Premium Bandai exclusive kits provides a rare opportunity for fans and collectors to acquire models that were thought to be out of production.
Premium Bandai exclusives typically consist of limited production runs or specialized variants of existing kits, making these re-releases a valuable opportunity for collectors who missed out on their initial availability.
Pre-orders can be placed through the Premium Bandai website and will begin shipping to customers from August 2025 onwards.
As part of a broader wave of Gunpla kit releases, Premium Bandai are also re-releasing several Universal Century and G-Gundam model kits and releasing four new kits based on the Advance of Z side-story.

It would have been nice if Bandai would have released Master Grades models of Vayeate, Mercurius, Tores, Leo, Serpent troops, I have been wating all this time for MGs of these models. 1/144 falls below my expectations, but thats my opinion as I had already owned and built all of the original model kits so long ago now in my late 40’s.
