The comedic psychological romance series The Dangers in My Heart, known in Japan as “Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu”, is preparing for its finale.

It was recently announced via the 13th compiled book volume of Norio Sakurai’s manga that the story will conclude with its next release, the 14th volume.

The series has gained a substantial following since its initial launch.

Seven Seas Entertainment, which publishes the English translation, describes the story’s core dynamic: Ichikawa Kyotaro, a self-proclaimed troubled teen on the lowest rung of the social ladder, secretly fantasizes about disturbing his classmates’ peaceful lives while obsessively focusing on the school’s class idol, Anna Yamada.

However, Kyotaro’s edgy facade hides a much less tormented personality, and he soon discovers that the seemingly perfect Anna holds a few delightful eccentricities of her own, leading to an unexpected and awkward romance.

Sakurai initially launched the manga in “Weekly Shōnen Champion” magazine before it began migrating through Akita Shoten’s various manga websites, eventually settling on the Manga Cross platform, which has since been renewed as Champion Cross.

This new series, created by Haika Nanasaka, centers on Kyōtarō Ichikawa’s older sister, Kana, providing a different perspective on the family dynamic.

The main manga also received a critically acclaimed anime adaptation.

The first season premiered on TV Asahi and its affiliates, with HIDIVE streaming the series outside of Japan.

Due to its popularity, a second season followed promptly and concluded the following spring.
