Pokémon Releases 22-Minute Long Official 30th Anniversary Song Featuring the Entire Pokédex
Pokémon is celebrating its 30th anniversary with an ambitious new song that challenges Japanese musician Masayoshi Oishi to sing the names of all 1,025 Pokémon across a huge 22-minute music video.
“Pokémon All-Stars 1025” covers every Pokémon introduced from the original Pokémon Red and Green through Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, combining three decades of names with artwork from across the franchise’s history.
Oishi is one of Japan’s best-known modern anime song performers and composers, with international anime fans likely to recognize his work even if his name isn’t immediately familiar.
His credits include the Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun opening “Kimi ja Nakya Dame Mitai,” while he is also the vocalist of OxT, the duo behind songs including Overlord’s “Clattanoia” and SSSS.GRIDMAN’s “UNION”.
The project first appeared in April 2026 as “Pokémon All-Stars 213/1025,” an earlier version that featured 213 Pokémon before the complete anniversary edition expanded the concept to the entire current Pokédex.
Instead of presenting the Pokémon against a single visual backdrop, the new music video takes the form of an enormous scrapbook filled with artwork from the games, anime, Pokémon Trading Card Game and merchandise released across the last 30 years.
Its pages include regular Pokémon alongside regional forms, Mega Evolutions and Gigantamax appearances, while artwork from projects such as PokéPeace also appears throughout the video.
More than 150 people were reportedly involved in creating the scrapbook presentation, helping turn the song into as much of a visual retrospective as a musical challenge.
The concept also recalls Pokémon’s long history of songs centered around remembering character names, including Japan’s original “Pokémon Ierukana?” and the Pokérap familiar to many US fans.
“Pokémon All-Stars 1025” forms part of the wider celebrations marking 30 years since Pokémon Red and Green first launched in Japan on February 27, 1996.
Recent anniversary projects have included the region-focused “Pokémon Timeless Adventure” merchandise collections, the most recent of which focused on the Alola region, alongside major collaborations with brands including Polaroid.
The complete “Pokémon All-Stars 1025” music video premiered through Pokémon’s official YouTube channel on September 3, 2026 and is available to watch internationally now, with the song also arriving on major streaming services from September 4.
