Pokémon Center BANGKOK Set to Officially Open This December with Shaymin as Signature Pokémon
Image by Charlotte DavisThailand’s first permanent Pokémon Center will officially open in December 2026, with The Pokémon Company also revealing Shaymin as the signature Pokémon for its new Bangkok store.
Pokémon Center BANGKOK was originally announced in May, when The Pokémon Company confirmed plans for a permanent location inside centralwOrld, one of the largest shopping complexes in the heart of the Thai capital.

The initial announcement left the opening date, store design and other details under wraps, although a signing ceremony with centralwOrld operator Central Pattana gave fans an early taste of the localized approach through a group of Pikachu mascots dressed in traditional Thai clothing.

The Bangkok location will become the third permanent Pokémon Center outside Japan, following the existing stores in Singapore and Taipei, and represents a major expansion of Pokémon’s official retail presence across Southeast Asia.
The latest update has now revealed that the Mythical Pokémon Shaymin, specifically its Land Forme, will become the character most closely associated with the Bangkok store.

Known as the Gratitude Pokémon, Shaymin is a small Grass-type Mythical Pokémon first introduced during the fourth generation of Pokémon games, with flowers that bloom when it senses feelings of gratitude.
That theme carries directly into the newly revealed Pokémon Center BANGKOK logo, which places a smiling Shaymin alongside Pikachu within a circular design created specifically for the store.

The first look at the entrance also shows the pair appearing together as large character statues, surrounded by a circular flower display that complements Shaymin’s nature-focused appearance.
Giving Shaymin such a prominent role provides the Bangkok store with its own recognizable identity and follows the tradition of Pokémon Centers using different characters and artwork to distinguish individual locations.

Pokémon Center BANGKOK will be located on the sixth floor of centralwOrld, where visitors will be able to shop for a wide selection of official Pokémon merchandise while exploring a dedicated space built around the franchise.
Pokémon Centers typically carry everything from plushies and stationery to accessories and Pokémon Trading Card Game products, while also serving as venues for special events and other activities aimed at local fans.

Further details about the Bangkok store’s merchandise and opening celebrations have yet to be revealed, so it remains to be seen whether Shaymin will also feature across location-exclusive products created specifically for Thailand.
One thing The Pokémon Company has already clarified is that there won’t be a commemorative Pokémon card distributed to celebrate the store’s opening.

Pokémon Center BANGKOK will operate from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM each day, subject to centralwOrld’s own opening hours and holiday schedule, with BTS Chit Lom Station providing the closest Skytrain access.
The store is scheduled to open sometime in December 2026, although an exact opening date has not yet been announced and further details will be shared in the months leading up to its debut.
