Pikachu to electrify Sapporo this summer with special Pokémon baseball event
Japanese baseball team the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters’ are set to host an exciting collaboration with the popular TV anime “Pokémon”.
The collaboration will take place between July 26th and August 24th, 2025, as part of the “F VILLAGE SUMMER PARK” event which will be held in the Hokkaido Ballpark F Village complex surrounding the Es Con Field Stadium.
Visitors to the F Village complex will be able to enjoy various Pokémon-themed activities, culminating in a special collaboration baseball match where Captain Pikachu himself will make an appearance at Es Con Field Hokkaido.
F Village is a sprawling entertainment space centered around Es Con Field Hokkaido, the state-of-the-art home stadium of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters professional baseball team.
It is designed to be a year-round destination for both sports enthusiasts and families.
Opened in 2023, it features not only the stadium but also accommodation facilities, restaurants, play areas, and outdoor activity spaces.
Throughout the summer, F Village is set to host a range of seasonal attractions, including a meat festival and a beer garden, with the Pokémon collaboration providing extra family-friendly entertainment.
Pikachu, the electric-type Pokémon, has become the global mascot of the franchise, beloved for its cuteness and cheerful personality.
The latest series of the TV anime “Pokémon” follows the adventures of Liko and Roy, who are often accompanied by Captain Pikachu.
The highlight of the “Pokémon” collaboration at F Village will be the special collaboration match at Es Con Field Hokkaido on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, when the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters face the Orix Buffaloes.
For this one-day event, Captain Pikachu will visit the stadium to greet fans.
The first 3,000 visitors who are elementary school age or younger on August 19th will receive an exclusive Captain Pikachu collaboration art board.
The design of the art board has not yet been revealed, but event organizers have released images showing the front and back of a special flyer commemorating the crossover event that all visitors attending the match will receive.
Either side of the match day, the collaboration will offer ongoing activities for the duration of the “F VILLAGE SUMMER PARK” event:
- Stamp Rally
A stamp rally will be held throughout the venue. Participants who successfully complete the rally will be rewarded with a “Pokémon” Mega Voltage sticker sheet.
- Photo Spots
The F Village grounds will be adorned with various Pokémon-themed photo spots, providing opportunities for memorable pictures with beloved characters.
- Large-Screen Video Broadcasts
Even on non-game days, visitors to Es Con Field Hokkaido can enjoy Pokémon content through large-screen video broadcasts, ensuring entertainment regardless of the baseball schedule.
