Out of production Gundam SEED action figure set for October 2025 re-release

Fans of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED will have another chance to acquire a figure of the iconic Strike Gundam that has been out of production for several years.
BANDAI SPIRITS has announced the re-release of the “ROBOT Spirits <SIDE MS> GAT-X105 Strike Gundam ver. ANIME”.

The “ROBOT Spirits” line is a highly regarded series of articulated action figures produced by BANDAI SPIRITS.

The “ver. ANIME” designation on a figure means that during the design process there was a focus on replicating the mech as accurately as possible in regards to its anime appearance.
These figures are known for their high degree of articulation, faithful accurate sculpts that are accurate to the source material and inclusion of numerous accessories and effect parts.

The GAT-X105 Strike Gundam is the primary Mobile Suit piloted by Kira Yamato in the early arcs of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, a highly popular anime series that debuted in 2002.

The Strike Gundam is renowned for its versatile Striker Pack system, which allows it to adapt to different combat scenarios by swapping out backpack units.

While this re-release focuses on the base Strike Gundam, an accurate interperatation of its core design and articulation are crucial for displaying it with various accessory packs that are sold separately.

The “ROBOT Spirits Strike Gundam ver. ANIME” figure includes effect parts for the head vulcans and back verniers, allowing for dynamic displays of firing and thrust.

The “Armor Schneider” combat knife is also included, enabling poses that show off the mobile suit’s close-quarters combat capabilities.

A key improvement for this “ver. ANIME” figure compared to earlier figures of the Strike Gundam is the addition of new articulation points.

A new axis in the chest allows for the torso’s characteristic curvature, crucial for replicating the Strike Gundam’s agile movements.

The inclusion of an axis movement at the calf position provides even greater flexibility, enabling dynamic, deep stances and free movement that should allow for a wide range of action poses.

The figure comes equipped with its standard beam rifle and anti-beam shield armaments as seen in the Gundam SEED series.

The re-release of this figure is a welcome opportunity for collectors who may have missed its initial run in 2022, especially given the continuous popularity of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.
The series is still popular enough to warrant new merchandise, such as Gunpla model kits and Gundam shaped speakers.
Pre-orders have now officially opened and it can be ordered at a variety of hobby retailers and specialist stores. A list of retailers can be found via the official Tamashii Nations website.
The figure is priced at 7,150 yen (approx. $50.07 USD / £36.91 GBP) and orders are expected to start shipping to customers once it goes on general in October 2025.
