Orders Open as SD Gundam’s Knight Gundam Returns as a Huge New Soft Vinyl Figure
PLEX has officially opened pre-orders for a brand-new Knight Gundam Sofubi Figure, bringing one of the most iconic heroes in SD Gundam history back in an impressive oversized collectible.
Knight Gundam first appeared in SD Gundam Gaiden: Sieg Zeon Arc in 1989, the fantasy-themed spin-off that helped establish the enduring SD Gundam franchise by reimagining Mobile Suits as knights, monsters and legendary heroes in a medieval world.
The legendary warrior arrives as a large-scale soft vinyl figure inspired by Yokoi’s classic illustrations, faithfully recreating the character’s distinctive super-deformed proportions while preserving the noble appearance that made Knight Gundam a fan favorite.
According to the original story, Knight Gundam emerged during a flash of lightning with no memory beyond his own name before rescuing Princess Frau and being granted the title of Knight by Revil because his name matched that of an ancient legendary hero.
His journey eventually led him on a quest to defeat Satan Gundam, the demon lord of the Zeon Tribe, cementing his place as one of the defining heroes of the SD Gundam universe.
The new figure faithfully recreates Knight Gundam’s imposing armor with vibrant colors and sharp sculpting, while his determined expression and flowing cape capture the courageous personality that defined the legendary warrior.
Every signature piece of equipment has been included, including the Knight Sword, Knight Shield, and Electro-Magnetic Lance, allowing collectors to recreate multiple display configurations.
The right hand can be equipped with either the Knight Sword or the Electro-Magnetic Lance depending on the preferred pose, while the unused weapon can be stored just as it appears in the original design.
When not in use, the Knight Sword can be attached directly to the shield, while the Electro-Magnetic Lance mounts securely onto the figure’s rear weapon hanger, providing clean storage without sacrificing display accuracy.
Standing approximately 22 cm tall and measuring around 31 cm wide, the oversized sofubi release delivers an impressive shelf presence while remaining faithful to the classic two-head-tall SD proportions that made Knight Gundam instantly recognizable.
The SD Gundam Gaiden Knight Gundam Sofubi Figure is priced at ¥27,500 (approx. $188 USD / £138 GBP), with pre-orders now available exclusively through the Marupi Garage Online Store on Premium Bandai, ahead of its scheduled October 2026 release.
