Okabe and Kurisu Star in STEINS;GATE’s New Official Fragrance Collection
Japanese fragrance company FAIRY TAIL has announced a new STEINS;GATE collection that turns five of the science adventure series’ central characters into individually designed scents.
The lineup takes inspiration from Rintaro Okabe, Kurisu Makise, Mayuri Shiina, Itaru Hashida and Suzuha Amane, with each receiving their own 50ml eau de parfum built around their personality, relationships and role in the story.
STEINS;GATE originally launched as the second entry in the Science Adventure game series in October 2009, following a group of friends in Akihabara who discover a way of sending messages into the past and become caught up in the consequences of altering history.
Its combination of science fiction, time travel, and character-driven drama later expanded through a hugely successful anime adaptation, movie, sequel games, manga, novels, and other projects that have kept the series active more than 15 years after its original release.
FAIRYTAIL Parfum has become a regular source of officially licensed character fragrances, with recent collections including a No Game No Life range featuring characters such as Shiro and Jibril, alongside perfumes inspired by SAKAMOTO DAYS and Akame ga Kill!
The company has also taken the concept beyond anime, previously creating the first official Transformers fragrance collection with scents and home fragrance products inspired by characters and imagery from the long-running franchise.
FAIRYTAIL’s new STEINS;GATE collection approaches each character through a different fragrance family, ranging from the citrus and woody notes chosen for Okabe to the cooler marine scent created around Suzuha.

- “STEINS;GATE Eau de Parfum Rintaro Okabe”
A citrus, woody and aromatic fragrance opening with bergamot, lemon and violet leaf before moving through lavender, orange blossom and neroli, with patchouli, amber and white musk forming the deeper final notes.
FAIRYTAIL describes the progression as reflecting Okabe’s intelligence and determination before revealing the kindness and loneliness he carries while repeatedly crossing world lines.
- “STEINS;GATE Eau de Parfum Kurisu Makise”
Kurisu receives a fresh floral scent that begins with citron and citrus, followed by jasmine and water hyacinth before settling into teakwood, white musk and iris.
The fragrance is intended to balance her calm, analytical nature as a researcher with the warmer emotions she gradually shows toward Okabe and the other members of the Future Gadget Laboratory.
- “STEINS;GATE Eau de Parfum Mayuri Shiina”
Mayuri’s floral bouquet starts with mandarin and bergamot before introducing peony, rose and apricot, with white musk providing the final layer.
Its softer composition is based around Mayuri’s cheerful personality and the warmth she brings to the people around her throughout the story.
- “STEINS;GATE Eau de Parfum Itaru Hashida”
Daru’s citrus green fragrance combines bergamot, pineapple and papaya at the top with green tea and violet through the middle, finishing with musk and amber.
The scent is designed around his approachable personality, technical skills and the dependable role he plays within the Future Gadget Laboratory.
- “STEINS;GATE Eau de Parfum Suzuha Amane”
Suzuha receives a marine aromatic fragrance led by mint, lavender and a sea accord, followed by jasmine and sandalwood before amber and musk complete the scent.
The fresher opening reflects her energetic nature, while the warmer later notes represent the determination and emotional weight behind her mission to change the future.
Pre-orders for all five STEINS;GATE fragrances opened on September 7 through FAIRYTAIL’s DREAMING PRINCESS online store alongside the company’s Amazon and Rakuten storefronts.
Each 50ml eau de parfum is priced at ¥4,950 (approximately $32 USD / £23 GBP), with Amazon currently listing an October 30, 2026 release date.
