Official Gundam Fan Club Set for Permanent Closure
Bandai has officially announced that the official fanclub app of the Gundam series will cease operations in 2027.
The “Gundam Fan Club” app has served as the official community for the franchise since its launch in 2015, offering access to video content and exclusive benefits for over a decade.
Mobile Suit Gundam, created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise, revolutionized the mecha genre in 1979 by introducing a realistic military setting and complex character dramas.
The franchise has since expanded into a massive global phenomenon, encompassing countless anime series, plastic models, and video games.
The Gundam Fan Club app was designed to centralize this vast universe for dedicated fans, offering a library of video content ranging from the original series to the latest entries.
It allowed users to view production materials, read digital fan club magazines, and access exclusive pre-sale tickets for events.
For over ten years, the app functioned as a direct bridge between the creators and the community, offering both monthly and premium annual membership tiers.
With the impending closure, the app will wind down its operations in stages over the next year to ensure current members receive their final benefits.
Management is currently considering selling back numbers of the physical newsletter to monthly members and offering the final birthday cards for purchase to all paid members.

- Premium Membership Updates
New sign-ups and automatic renewals will cease on Friday, February 27, 2026.
Members who renew by this date will receive the 2025 benefit, a “Gundam Fan Club Magazine Cover Illustration Acrylic Stand.”
- Monthly Membership Updates
New sign-ups and automatic renewals will cease on Friday, February 26, 2027.
- Final Physical Benefits
Newsletter Vol. 13 will be shipped in September 2026 to active Premium members.
New Year’s cards for 2027 will be sent to Premium members active as of December 15, 2026.
- Event Ticket Priority
Advance ticket lotteries for Gundam events may still occur until the service ends, with Monthly members also being eligible.
The service will officially conclude all operations on Wednesday, March 31, 2027.
