No Man’s Sky Receives Pokémon Inspired Xeno Arena Update

Hello Games has officially released the Xeno Arena update for No Man’s Sky on April 8, 2026, marking version 63 of the expansive space exploration title.
This update introduces turn-based creature battles, allowing players to recruit wild fauna from various planets to form competitive combat teams.
Players can engage in simulated fights at new Holo-Arena tables located within planetary buildings, space stations, and the Space Anomaly hub.
The update includes hundreds of battle abilities influenced by a creature’s species and native climate, featuring a system of eight elemental affinities.
A new character named Iteration: Oceanus has arrived at the Space Anomaly to guide players through the Arena League and offer daily combat challenges.
The Arena League is a new faction where players can earn five varieties of ranked medals and special titles for their achievements in battle and breeding.
Genetic customization has been expanded via Morphogenetics and the Egg Sequencer, allowing players to upgrade traits such as agility and combat effectiveness.
To support the collection of more species, the maximum number of tamed creatures in the Companion Register has been increased from 18 to 30.
The Analysis Visor now features a specialized Creature Survey mode to reveal battle traits and species information for wild animals before adoption.
Technical improvements accompanying the update include a 15 percent rendering performance boost for the Nintendo Switch 2 and tiled lighting for PC.
Optimization efforts have also targeted inventory handling and player-built bases to ensure smoother gameplay during resource management and exploration.
Players can earn unique rewards through the league, such as the Corrupted Quadruped and Boundary Horror, as they rise through the competitive ranks.
No Man’s Sky and the Xeno Arena update are currently available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC platforms.
