Nippon Sangoku Anime Debuts New Trailer and Cast Details

The upcoming television anime adaptation of Ikka Matsuki’s manga series Nippon Sangoku has released a new trailer and special visual ahead of its scheduled premiere on April 5, 2026.
In addition to the fresh promotional footage, the production team announced four new cast members and revealed that Leina will perform the ending theme song titled Chikai.

Kenyu Horiuchi joins the cast as Hei Miyakichi, while Shuichiro Umeda will provide the voice for Nagao Taketo Jun.
The expanded voice cast also includes Shunsuke Sakino as Kura Akii and Ayumu Murase as Hiradono Tsugumi.

The series is set to debut on Amazon Prime Video on April 5, 2026, followed by a broadcast on U-NEXT and various television stations, including TOKYO MX and BS NTV, starting April 6, 2026.

Set in a future where nuclear war and natural disasters have caused the collapse of Japanese society, the story follows the country’s division into three competing nations.
The series centers on Aoteru Misumi, a former agricultural official who utilizes his intellect and speaking skills to rise through the ranks in an effort to reunify the nation.

Director Kazuaki Terasawa is leading the project at Studio Kafka, working alongside character designer Takahiko Abiru and series composer Teruko Utsumi.
The musical score for the production is being composed by Kevin Penkin, who is well known for his work on various high-profile animated projects.

The original manga by Ikka Matsuki is serialized in Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday magazine and currently has six collected volumes available in Japan.
