New Wing Gundam Gunpla kit available to order alongside new Build Booster parts set
BANDAI SPIRITS has released detailed information regarding two exciting new Gunpla products designed to appeal to both new fans and experienced builders.
They will be releasing the “ENTRY GRADE 1/144 Wing Gundam” and the “Option Parts Set Gunpla 18 (Build Booster Set)” later this year.
The Mobile Suit Gundam franchise is currently celebrating its 45th anniversary and has maintained its relevance during that time through a continuous stream of new anime series, films, and its highly popular Gunpla plastic model kits.
BANDAI SPIRITS offers various grades of Gunpla to cater to all skill levels.
The “Entry Grade” line is specifically designed as an introductory point, focusing on ease of assembly, while “Option Parts Sets” provide customization opportunities for certain models.
The “ENTRY GRADE 1/144 Wing Gundam” represents a popular addition to the beginner-friendly line.
The Wing Gundam is probably the most famous Gundam from the 1995 anime Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.
The kit features “touch gate” specification parts which allowing parts to be easily removed by hand without the need for nippers. This significantly lowers the barrier to entry for new builders.
A standout feature is its “sophisticated part division”, which reproduces the majority of the Gundam’s coloring through its parts, eliminating the need for stickers or paints.
This provides a clean, anime-accurate finish right out of the box.
Despite minimizing part count, Bandai have given the kit a level of articulation that enables dynamic posing of the completed model.
The kit also includes Wing Gundam’s weaponry – its famous Buster Rifle and shield.
The “ENTRY GRADE 1/144 Wing Gundam” is priced at 1,100 yen (approx. $7.61 USD / £5.61 GBP).
Complementing this Gunpla kit, the “Option Parts Set Gunpla 18 (Build Booster Set)” expands the possibilities for customization and provides extra parts that can be attached to the completed model.
This options set includes both the Build Booster and Build Booster Mk-II.
These units are highly versatile, capable of transforming from a fighter plane mode into a backpack unit, which can then be attached to a wide variety of Mobile Suits, including the newly released Entry Grade Wing Gundam.
Thanks to the inclusion of various joint parts, individual components of the Build Boosters can be removed and utilized as separate weapons or custom parts.
This modularity allows builders to creatively modify and enhance their existing Gunpla and enables diverse customization possibilities beyond just the boosters themselves.
The “Option Parts Set Gunpla 18 (Build Booster Set)” is priced at 1,210 yen (approx. $8.37 USD / £6.17 GBP).
Online pre-orders for both products are now open and they can be ordered from most reputable hobby retailers/model kit specialists.
The “EG Wing Gundam” kit is currently scheduled for an October 2025 release and the “Option Parts Set” is set for a November 2025 release.
