Tamagotchi inspired eyewear range revealed by JINS

JINS, a major Japanese eyewear brand, has announced a new collaboration with the iconic digital pet game, Tamagotchi.
The collection will cater to a wide audience as it offers both regular-sized frames and kids frames, with a total of 12 styles across both lines.

Tamagotchi, created by Bandai in 1996, revolutionized the concept of virtual pets.

The small, egg-shaped handheld devices quickly became a global phenomenon, allowing users to nurture digital creatures by feeding them, playing with them, and cleaning up after them.
As part of this collaboration, JINS will provide customers with QR codes that can be used to claim in-game items for use with “Tamagotchi Paradise”.

Collaborations between eyewear brands and brands like Tamagotchi have been increasingly common in Japan.
JINS released a range of Dragon Ball DAIMA-inspired glasses earlier this year, while their competitor Zoff has released glasses based on a wide range of series, including Haikyuu!!, Sanrio Characters and Final Fantasy IX.

In addition to the new collaboration with JINS, Tamagotchi will also be collaborating with the mobile game Project SEKAI, which will see Hatsune Miku and friends paired with Tamagotchi characters.

The new JINS x Tamagotchi collection features six distinct regular-sized models, each inspired by a different Tamagotchi character, with two color variations per frame type.
These include:
- Mametchi

This frame takes inspiration from Mametchi with a dark upper color fading into a clear yellow/brown similar to Mametchi’s coloring, with dark ears on top of a yellow body.

It also features a visual representation of a full “intelligence gauge,” symbolizing Mametchi’s characteristic intellect.
- Mimitchi

Sharing the same frame design as the Mametchi model, this version comes in a clear coloring, reflecting Mimitchi, who resembles Mametchi but is distinguished by her white color and larger ears.

Like the Mametchi model, it also boasts a full “intelligence gauge.”
- Memetchi

This frame is presented in a cheerful orange, inspired by Memetchi, a fashionable Tamagotchi with curly hair and a kind, sometimes feisty, personality.

The design features a full “cuteness gauge,” representing her signature trait.
- Furawatchi

With the same frame as the Memetchi model, the Furawatchi version is colored in a delicate pink.

This model also displays a full “cuteness gauge” like the Memetchi glasses.
- Kuchipatchi

This frame comes in a characteristic green, reflecting Kuchipatchi, the lovable, easygoing, and often hungry Tamagotchi with a large mouth.
The design cleverly incorporates metal parts shaped like Kuchipatchi’s iconic mouth.

An apple, a nod to his love for food, is drawn on the side of the frame.
- Gozarutchi

Sharing the frame style with the Kuchipatchi model, this version is black, drawing inspiration from Gozarutchi, the mysterious ninja-themed Tamagotchi.

It features metal parts resembling Gozarutchi’s eyes and a shuriken design on the side, referencing his ninja skills.
Each purchase of these collaboration glasses will include a special themed case and a cleaning cloth.

The case features illustrations of the six primary Tamagotchi characters, while its interior includes the character “Marucchi” delivering the encouraging message, “You can see well.”

In addition to the adult-sized frames, JINS is also releasing a kids’ “Tamagotchi Paradise” series.
These models are based on the characters “Hohotchi,” “Myaotchi,” and “Irukatchi,” each available in two distinct colors.
- Hohotchi (Berry Pink or Purple)

- Myaotchi (Pink/Gold or Light Pink/Rose Gold)

- Irukatchi (Blue or Navy)

Both the adult and kids JINS Tamagotchi collaboration model glasses will be priced at 10,900 yen (approx. $73 USD / £55 GBP) and will officially launch on August 7th, 2025.
They will be available at select JINS stores across Japan, as well as through their official online store.
Customers interested in viewing the full range of participating retail locations can find detailed information on the JINS website.
