Released in 1954, Godzilla introduced audiences to what would become one of cinema’s most influential monsters, using the giant kaiju as a reflection of post-war fears surrounding nuclear weapons while laying the foundations for a franchise that continues to thrive more than 70 years later.
Recent years have introduced a new generation of fans through the Academy Award-winning Godzilla Minus One, with excitement continuing to build ahead of this year’s release of Godzilla 0.0, making it an especially fitting time for merchandise that celebrates where the series first began.
The new Godzilla Voice Alarm Clock from Direct Art Gallery follows the success of a previously released limited-edition black version, returning with an updated appearance inspired by the original movie.
Its redesigned clock face features a dramatic scene of Godzilla advancing through a devastated city, while the silver-colored housing gives the new version a fresh look that still captures the atmosphere of the 1954 film.
What sets the clock apart is its use of authentic sound recordings taken directly from the original movie, allowing fans to choose between an opening sequence-inspired alarm, the sounds of Godzilla rampaging through the city, or the monster’s unforgettable roar to start each morning.
The release serves as another tribute to the film that introduced one of pop culture’s most enduring icons, with the combination of vintage artwork and original audio making it a celebration of Godzilla’s earliest days.
The Godzilla Voice Alarm Clock (New Design Version), priced at ¥8,800 (approx. $59 USD / £41 GBP), is now available to pre-order through the Direct Art Gallery online store.
Orders are currently scheduled to begin shipping in mid-August 2026, while Direct Art Gallery is also marking the launch with a promotional giveaway on its official X account where fans can win one of the new alarm clocks ahead of release.
