New Hatsune Miku x Gundam wireless speaker revealed

In celebration of the ongoing anniversary of the iconic Gundam franchise, a unique new piece of merchandise has been revealed.
Based on the special “Gundam 45th Anniversary x Hatsune Miku” collaboration, a wireless speaker has been created based on the series’ Haro robots which includes a “Hatsune Miku” themed twist.

The “Gundam” franchise, which began with “Mobile Suit Gundam” in 1979, has grown into a global phenomenon encompassing anime, manga, video games, model kits (Gunpla), and various merchandise.

Its 45th anniversary in 2024 has seen numerous commemorative projects and products.
One major anniversary project is the “Gundam x Miku” project, which has seen a huge range of Gundam and Miku-themed merchandise go on sale, as well as virtual concerts being held.

Haro, the small, spherical robot, is one of the most recognizable mascots of the “Gundam” franchise, appearing in multiple series as a companion to various protagonists, most famously Amuro Ray in the original series and later Lacus Clyne in “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED”.

Haro is known for its distinctive speech patterns, often repeating simple phrases, and its playful, loyal demeanor.
Hatsune Miku, on the other hand, is a virtual pop idol developed by Crypton Future Media.

Launched in 2007, she is a Vocaloid software voicebank personified as a girl with long, turquoise twin-tails.
Miku’s immense popularity stems from her decentralized creative process, where millions of users worldwide create music, art, and videos using her voice, leading to a vast and diverse catalog of fan-made content and numerous successful virtual concerts.

Her global appeal has made her a cultural icon, frequently collaborating with major brands and artists.
This new “Gundam 45th Anniversary x Hatsune Miku: Lively Haro Speaker Miku ver.” is shaped like Haro, maintaining its signature spherical design.
However, it incorporates Hatsune Miku’s iconic turquoise color scheme and signature hair accessories.

Functionally, it serves as an external speaker that can connect wirelessly to computers or smartphones, with sound emanating from Haro’s mouth as its eyes light up.
The combination of Haro and Miku is likely to make this speaker a sought-after item for collectors who appreciate both franchises.

The speaker will be released in Japan as a crane game prize, and fans in Japan will have the opportunity to acquire when it appears in arcades/amusement centers starting from August 2025.
BANDAI will also be releasing a series of other “Gundam” themed wireless speakers shaped like the heads of Gundams and mobile suits from the “Gundam SEED” and “Gundam GQuuuuuuX” series.
