New Gunpla model kit features one of the largest weapons ever
BANDAI SPIRITS has announced a new Gunpla kit featuring the GQuuuuuuX version of a classic mobile suit.
The mobile suit, MS-15/H Xavier Custom Gyan, originates from “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX” where it is piloted by Xavier Olivette.
This latest instalment in the Gundam franchise presents an alternate version of the original series “Universal Century” setting.
The Gyan, in its various iterations, is a distinctive mobile suit design from the original “Mobile Suit Gundam” series.
It is typically piloted by antagonists and is known for its knight-like aesthetic and emphasis on close-quarters combat.
The Gyan’s design is characterized by its sharp lines, mono-eye, and shield which has made it a fan favorite for its unique style compared to the more traditional Gundam designs.
A central feature of this particular kit is the inclusion of the gigantic “Hakuji” spear, a formidable melee weapon that promises impressive display potential.
On its own the Hakuji spear is larger than the Gyan mobile suit that holds it.
To support the weight and dynamic posing of this large accessory, a dedicated pedestal for holding the Hakuji spear will be included with the kit.
As a High Grade (HG) model, this 1/144 scale kit offers a balance of detail, articulation, and ease of assembly, making it suitable for a wide range of Gunpla builders, from beginners to more experienced hobbyists.
The kit is designed to faithfully reproduce the mobile suit’s movements, including a single-axis joint in the elbow for improved posing and a movable mono-eye, adding expressiveness to the head unit.
As well as its primary weapon, the “HG 1/144 Xavier Custom Gyan (Hakuji Equipment)” also comes with a shield.
This shield features a replicated missile hatch deployment gimmick, allowing builders to display the mobile suit in an offensive posture.
This release should appeal to fans of the GQuuuuuuX series and those who appreciate the new alternate designs this continuity is creating for previously established mobile suits.
The new “HG 1/144 Xavier Custom Gyan (Hakuji Equipment)” Gunpla kit is set become available from hobby stores and other retailers on July 5th, 2025, with a price of 2,860 yen (approximately $19.61 USD / £14.55 GBP).
