New Gundam SEED prize figure features Lacus Clyne in a swimsuit

Banpresto, a division of BANDAI SPIRITS known for its popular prize figures, is set to release a new Lacus Clyne figure.
The new figure will be a color variant of the previously released “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM GLITTER&GLAMOURS – Lacus Clyne -“.

This “Another Color ver.” figure will be available as a crane game prize, offering fans a fresh take on the heroine from the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series in an original swimsuit-clad look.
The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED continuity, which includes Mobile Suit Gundam SEED (2002), Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny (2004), and the latest film, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM (2024), is one of the most commercially successful and enduring branches of the Gundam franchise.

Lacus Clyne is a central and iconic character within this universe. Known for her role as a pop idol, political leader, and a pivotal figure in the Cosmic Era setting, Lacus is celebrated for her charismatic presence and strong will.

Her appearance in Gundam SEED FREEDOM saw her continue her leadership role, further cementing her status as a key heroine.
Crane game prizes, often referred to as “UFO catcher” prizes in Japan, are a popular form of merchandise distribution.

These figures are typically non-scale, pre-painted, and offer a more accessible way for fans to acquire collectibles of their favorite characters compared to higher-priced scale figures.
The “GLITTER&GLAMOURS” line specifically focuses on female characters, emphasizing dynamic poses and detailed sculpts that highlight their beauty and “glamour.”

This “Another Color ver.” of Lacus Clyne is a repaint of a figure originally released in July 2024.

The figure stands at a substantial 22cm in height and depicts Lacus in a swimsuit, whilst in a relaxed pose as she holds a Haro-shaped beach ball.

Fans looking to add the new Lacus Clyne figure to their collection should check Japanese arcades and amusement centers starting from June 17th.

The figure’s availability outside of Japan will depend on local retailers who will either acquire stock second hand from the Japanese market or through BANDAI’s own distribution network.
For retailers stocked by BANDAI’s official distributors, the release date is usually around 1-2 months after the Japanese crane game release providing the figure is licensed for distribution in your territory.
Banpresto are also set to release two other Gundam figures this July, with figures of both Amate Yuzuriha (Machu) in her pilot suit and Nyaan in her school uniform will also become available as crane game prizes.
