New Ghost in the Shell art collab sees the iconic Tachikoma reimagined by artists with disabilities

A new collaboration has been announced between the art and lifestyle brand HERALBONY and the iconic science fiction anime franchise, Ghost in the Shell.
HERALBONY is a creative company with the mission to “Let Your Exceptionality Shine.”
It manages the IP licenses for over 2,000 pieces of art created by artists with disabilities, creating a sustainable business model that pays a proper royalty to the artists.

The theme for this new collaboration is “Creativity Transcends Boundaries.”
The project fuses the world of Ghost in the Shell, a story that explores the blurring lines between humans and AI, with the art of HERALBONY, which aims to break down the preconceived notions of disability.

The centerpiece of the collaboration is a new series of visuals that reimagines the series’ iconic, spider-like AI tank, the Tachikoma, by “dyeing” it in the unique and colorful artwork of ten different HERALBONY-contracted artists.

This new project is part of a larger, ongoing partnership between HERALBONY and the publisher Kodansha.

The collaboration will make its official, global debut at a special exhibition booth.

The booth will be a part of “KODANSHA HOUSE,” a pop-up event that will allow visitors to experience a variety of Kodansha’s popular manga series.
The exhibition will feature a 3D display of the “KODANSHA|HERALBONY Project meets Tachikoma” and a giveaway of exclusive, limited-edition stickers.
The “KODANSHA HOUSE” pop-up event will be held at 210 Lafayette St, New York, NY.
It is scheduled to run from Saturday, the 4th of October, to Sunday, the 19th of October, 2025.
