Archetype Entertainment has showcased a comprehensive 20-minute gameplay reveal for the upcoming science-fiction role-playing game EXODUS.
Scheduled for release in early 2027, the title is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC platforms including Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Players assume the role of Jun Aslan, a salvager turned Traveler who explores the Centauri Cluster to find a cure for a celestial virus known as the Rot.
The game features deep customization options for Jun’s appearance and gender, alongside a morality system that allows players to align as a Paladin or an Immortal.
Combat utilizes the versatile Recycler weapon, which adapts to different ranges, and a Gauntlet that can be upgraded with alien technology to manipulate terrain and launch enemies.
The narrative introduces a diverse crew of companions, such as xeno-archaeologist Phaedra Nath and a space cowboy voiced by actor Matthew McConaughey.
A central theme involves the Awakened, which are bioengineered animals like elephants and octopuses that serve as integral members of society.
Gameplay is heavily influenced by time dilation, meaning that brief journeys at lightspeed result in weeks or months passing for those left behind on the protagonist’s homeworld.
