A new collaboration has been announced between the popular soccer anime Blue Lock and Bandai’s iconic “Tamagotchi” virtual pet brand.

The “Blue Lock-tchi” is a special version of the “Tamagotchi Nano Colorful” that allows users to raise the “egoist strikers” from the hit series.

Blue Lock is a massively popular franchise that follows a group of high school strikers who are pitted against each other in a ruthless training program to create the world’s best forward.

This new virtual pet, created under the supervision of the original manga’s authors, translates that high-stakes environment into the classic Tamagotchi format.

Players can raise one of over 20 different strikers from the series, including the protagonist Yoichi Isagi and the members of Team Z.

The gameplay involves feeding the characters meals and snacks and playing mini-games to help them grow into the world’s number one striker.

The device’s color screen will also be able to display scenes from the comedic mini-anime series, Blue Lock Additional Time!.

A unique, lore-based “game over” condition has also been implemented.

If a player neglects to care for their character, rival characters such as the Itoshi brothers, Ryusei Shido, and Oliver Aiku will “take over the screen,” resulting in the player’s character being “eliminated” from Blue Lock.

The “Blue Lock-tchi” is available in two different shell colors, a Blue version and a Black version.
