Nendoroid Chocobo Announced by Square Enix and Good Smile Company
A new Nendoroid figure of the iconic mascot Chocobo, the recurring bird creature from the Final Fantasy series, has been announced.
The new product was revealed during the “Nendoroid FUNS 2026 Winter” online presentation on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
This collaboration between Square Enix and Good Smile Company brings the beloved flightless bird into the popular chibi figure line.
The Chocobo is best known for serving as a loyal mount that allows players to traverse the vast world maps of the RPG series.
It first appeared in Final Fantasy II in 1988 and has since become one of the most recognizable symbols of the franchise.
Created by Koichi Ishii, these avian creatures are famously fond of Gysahl Greens and possess a distinct, high-speed running style.
While the standard appearance is a yellow bird, the games often feature different colour variations that possess unique abilities, such as crossing rivers or flying over mountains.
They have also starred in their own spin-off titles, including the dungeon crawler Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon and the racing game Chocobo GP.
The character is often accompanied by its catchy musical theme composed by Nobuo Uematsu, which changes arrangement with every new installment.
This new figure captures the creature’s round appearance and expressive eyes, adapted to fit the Nendoroid aesthetic.
While specific details on accessories have not yet been shown, the design features the bird’s signature plumage and will likely have articulated legs for dynamic posing.
The “Nendoroid Chocobo” does not yet have a confirmed price or release date.
Information regarding the release schedule will be announced at a later date by Good Smile Company.
It will be available via the Good Smile Company Official Shop, as well as participating partner shops, such as HobbyLink Japan.
