My Dress-Up Darling Unveils New Official Life-Size Marin Kitagawa Statue
Image by James RichardsonPrime 1 Studio has revealed a new life-size statue of Marin Kitagawa from My Dress-Up Darling, recreating the popular cosplay enthusiast with a real fabric school uniform that can be removed to reveal a second look underneath.
The new release was unveiled during Prime 1 Studio’s NEXT LEVEL SHOWCASE XIX and joins the company’s Life-Scale Masterline, which focuses on recreating characters at their full in-universe size.
My Dress-Up Darling began as a manga by Shinichi Fukuda in 2018 before receiving an anime adaptation from CloverWorks in 2022, following aspiring Hina doll craftsman Wakana Gojo and his outgoing classmate Marin Kitagawa.
Marin is passionate about anime, games and cosplay but lacks the sewing skills needed to create the costumes she wants to wear, eventually turning to Gojo for help and drawing him into the hobby alongside her.
That love of cosplay makes the clothing one of the most interesting parts of Prime 1 Studio’s new statue, with Marin’s school uniform recreated using real fabric rather than sculpted clothing.
The blouse, necktie and skirt can be removed, revealing Marin wearing the bikini seen during the measurement scene in Episode 2 of the anime.
That gives the statue two very different display options, allowing Marin to appear either in her familiar school uniform or in one of the memorable looks from the early stages of her relationship with Gojo.
Prime 1 Studio has also reproduced smaller details from Marin’s appearance including her earrings, bracelets, painted nails and expressive eyes, helping the much larger format retain the fashion-focused details associated with her character.
Her long blonde hair fades into its familiar pink tips, while the sculpt captures Marin in a relaxed standing pose rather than building the display around an elaborate action scene.
The finished statue stands approximately 164cm tall, matching Marin’s stated height and making the release a true 1:1 scale recreation.
This won’t be Prime 1 Studio’s first figure of Marin, with the company previously releasing a 1/4 scale Premium Masterline statue that also recreated her school uniform using real fabric, allowing it to be removed to reveal lingerie underneath.
Marin has also received several other figures during 2026, including a Halloween-themed 1/7 scale release that dresses her in an original seasonal costume, highlighting how frequently My Dress-Up Darling continues to draw on her changing fashion and cosplay looks for new merchandise.
The life-size Marin statue has appeared as a prototype at events before this latest announcement, but the NEXT LEVEL SHOWCASE XIX presentation brings it another step closer to an official commercial release.
Prime 1 Studio currently expects pre-orders for the “Life-Scale Masterline My Dress-Up Darling Marin Kitagawa” to open during the fourth quarter of 2026.
Pricing and a final release date haven’t yet been announced, with further details expected when reservations officially begin.
