Publisher Ubisoft and developer SCREEN JUICE announced on April 3, 2026, that the roguelike hack-and-slash title Morbid Metal will launch in Early Access on April 8, 2026.

The game will be available for PC via Steam at an initial limited-time launch price of $13.49 or €13.49 before it increases to the standard price of $17.99 or €1.799.

Players can expect fast-paced action featuring a real-time shapeshifting mechanic that allows for stylish chain combos against waves of machines and powerful bosses.

The Early Access version includes three playable characters, ten enemy types, and three unique biomes that feature mid-run modifiers to keep gameplay fresh.

Combat depth is provided through character-specific Protocols and mid-run effects known as Corpora, which can be unlocked and upgraded via a skill-tree system called the Void Nexus.

Additional features available at launch include an in-game shop called the Emporium, optional challenges through Operators Trials, and risk-reward mechanics such as Devil Bargains.

While the game currently supports six languages, including English, German, and Japanese, the developers are considering adding more during the Early Access period.

A comprehensive Early Access roadmap is scheduled for reveal on April 17, 2026, during the Find Your Next Game Showcase event.
