McDonald’s Japan reveals its first-ever collab with Street Fighter

McDonald’s Japan has announced its first-ever collaboration campaign with the globally popular fighting game series, Street Fighter.
The new partnership will feature a lineup of three different, character-themed “Street Burgers,” as well as a variety of other limited-time menu items, a new TV commercial, and an in-game collaboration with the latest title, Street Fighter 6.

The new menu is a crossover between McDonald’s most popular burgers and three of the most iconic characters from the long-running series.

The three new, limited-edition “Street Burgers” are as follows:
- Scorched Garlic Mayo Egg Teriyaki (Ryu)

This new creation is a take on the classic Teriyaki McBurger, which adds a scorched garlic mayonnaise and an egg to the pork patty.

- Yurinchi Mayo Chicken (Chun-Li)

This new version of the Chicken Filet sandwich is inspired by the Chinese dish “Yurinchi” (oil-drenched chicken) and features a savory soy, sesame oil, and ginger-flavored sauce.

- Torichi/Triple Cheeseburger (Ken)

The popular “Torichi,” or Triple Cheeseburger, is being revived for this collaboration, with its three beef patties and three slices of cheese representing the fiery character of Ken.

In addition to the main burgers, a number of other, limited-time menu items will also be released.

These include a “Dub-Chi Sausage Muffin” for the breakfast menu, a new “Shaka Shaka Potato – Addictive Consommé Flavor,” and a new “Minagiru (“Full of Energy”) Energy” McFizz and McFloat, which will be served in a special, collaboration-themed cup.

To promote the collaboration, a new television commercial will be released, which is animated in the nostalgic style of the classic game, Street Fighter II.
The commercial will feature Ryu, Chun-Li, and Ken battling against a new, original, McDonald’s-themed character, “Vega (M. Bison) Smile.”

An in-game collaboration with the latest title in the series, Street Fighter 6, will also be held.

All players who log in during the campaign period will receive a free, special color for M. Bison’s (Vega in Japan) “Outfit 2.”

An in-game poll will also be held in the “Battle Hub,” where players can vote for their favorite McDonald’s burger.

The new “Street Burgers” collaboration campaign is scheduled to begin at McDonald’s locations across Japan next Wednesday, the 22nd of October.
