Mattel Unveils SDCC Exclusive Gym Bro Skeletor Figure
Mattel has unveiled one of its most unexpected Masters of the Universe collectibles yet, with a figure of Gym Bro Skeletor set to debut as a San Diego Comic-Con 2026 exclusive.
The playful new release joins the Masters of the Universe Chronicles series and transforms the franchise’s legendary villain into an over-the-top fitness enthusiast inspired by the recently released live-action Masters of the Universe movie.
In the 2026 film, Skeletor, portrayed by Jared Leto, launches a psychic assault on Prince Adam that leads to an unexpectedly humorous sequence in which the iconic villain appears wearing exaggerated gym attire.
That memorable scene has now been faithfully recreated as a collectible figure, complete with a purple sleeveless hooded top, matching athletic shorts, knee-high sports socks and lace-up sneakers that contrast perfectly with Skeletor’s unmistakable blue skin and skull-like face.
Standing approximately 15.2 cm tall, the figure features 32 points of articulation, allowing collectors to recreate a wide variety of expressive workout poses.
The accessory selection embraces the fitness theme with two dumbbells featuring metallic-finished weight plates, a matching barbell, a dedicated gym towel and multiple interchangeable hands for different display options.
Even the packaging fully commits to the joke, drawing inspiration from colorful 1980s gym culture with vibrant pink, orange and blue graphics surrounding a large illustration of Skeletor lifting a barbell.
The window-box packaging has been designed so collectors can display the articulated figure without removing it from the box if they choose.
Adding another layer of humor, the reverse side of the packaging includes Skeletor’s complete “Evil Workout Routine,” featuring fictional exercises such as Die-Cept Curls, Tri-Klops Extensions, Skeletor Bench Press and Evil Lunges, complete with suggested sets and repetitions.
The release continues Mattel’s tradition of blending premium collectibles with playful interpretations of its classic characters.
The Masters of the Universe Chronicles Gym Bro Skeletor action figure is priced at $50 USD (approx. ¥7,400 / £37 GBP), with exclusive sales beginning on July 23, 2026, at San Diego Comic-Con and through the Mattel Creations online store while supplies last.
