Limited edition Evangelion-themed portable vinyl player goes on sale for series’ 30th anniversary
A limited-edition, portable record player and two new vinyl LPs are being released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the iconic anime series, Evangelion.
The new products, released by King Records, are a celebration of the franchise’s influential music.
The centerpiece of the collection is the “30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELION VINYL MOTION,” a customized version of the “Vinyl Motion” portable record player from the manufacturer ION.
The player is a compact, suitcase-style unit with built-in stereo speakers, allowing users to play records easily without any complex setup.
This limited-edition version features an original Evangelion-themed design, a special slipmat, and a custom outer box.
Launching on the same day are two 30th anniversary edition vinyl records, each centered on one of the series’ legendary theme songs.
The jacket art for both of these records has yet to be revealed, but will feature new, original illustrations drawn by Ikuto Yamashita, the mecha designer for the Evangelion series.
The first record, “‘A Cruel Angel’s Thesis’ EVANGELION 30th Anniversary Edition LP,” includes the original opening theme as well as various other related vocal and instrumental tracks.
The second record, “‘Soul’s Refrain’ EVANGELION 30th Anniversary Edition LP,” features the theme song from the classic film Death & Rebirth and other related music.

The “30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELION VINYL MOTION” portable record player is priced at ¥38,500 (approx. $261 USD/£195 GBP).
Both the record player and the two vinyl LPs are scheduled to be released on Friday, the 21st of February, 2026.
