LEGO Yu-Gi-Oh! Ideas Contest Reveals Five Finalists as Fan Vote Opens

LEGO has officially announced the five finalists for its recent “It’s Time To Duel!” building contest, themed around the hit anime Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters.
Yu-Gi-Oh! is a legendary card-battling manga created by Kazuki Takahashi.

The story follows Yugi Muto, a young boy who solves an ancient Egyptian artifact and shares his body with the spirit of a legendary pharaoh.

The massive success of the manga spawned a global trading card game and multiple hit anime series.

This competition challenged builders to construct models utilizing between 400 and 2,000 pieces, drawing inspiration directly from the Duelist Kingdom and Battle City story arcs.
Submissions closed on March 10, 2026, leading to a rigorous expert review process to select the top contenders.

The grand prize winner will potentially have their submission transformed into an official retail LEGO set.
The chosen creator will also receive one percent of the total net sales, complimentary copies of the finished product, and explicit credit on the packaging.

Let’s take a closer look at the five incredible models competing for the top spot!
- “Summoning Slifer the Sky Dragon at Battle City – REDUX”

Created by builder DarkAnimal, this 839-piece diorama depicts the climactic Battle City finals.
The model features the massive beast wrapping around a Duel Disk, with three micro-figures of the necessary sacrifice monsters hidden inside the display base.
- “Duel Across the Millennia”

Designed by Moccermommy, this 1,917-piece build portrays a timeless rivalry in a single unified diorama.
The creation merges a modern hologram duel between Yugi Muto and Seto Kaiba with an ancient stone tablet clash featuring Atem and Priest Seto.
- “Blue-Eyes White Dragon – Duel Display”

Submitted by Brian b59124, this 595-piece set highlights Kaiba’s signature monster.
The dragon sits atop a monument inspired by ancient Egyptian tablets and includes a miniature figure of Seto Kaiba alongside interchangeable nameplates.
- “Millennium Puzzle: Duel of Eternal Rivals”

Constructed by Brick_flex using 1,585 pieces, this modular display places the iconic golden artifact at its center.
Fans can display Yugi and Kaiba alongside the Dark Magician and the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, on independent side stands.
- “The Heart of the Cards – Exodia”

Created by Step_on_a_Brick, this 1,913-piece submission recreates the legendary climax of the very first anime episode.
The model features highly articulated, brick-built figures of Yami Yugi and the unstoppable Exodia erupting dynamically from its cards.

Voting officially began on Tuesday, April 14, and will run through Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
Fans can cast a single vote for their favorite design on the official LEGO Ideas website.
The final results are scheduled to be announced by September 10, 2026.
