Krispy Kreme Japan upgrades exclusive doughnut only available in 5 stores
Krispy Kreme have announced they will be making a change to one of their Hokkaido-exclusive doughnuts.
The change will affect the highly popular “Krispy Kreme Premium White Cheesecake” doughnut, one of the signature offerings within the Hokkaido-exclusive “Krispy Kreme Premium Hokkaido” series.
The “Krispy Kreme Premium Hokkaido” series is a special line of premium donuts crafted with a strong emphasis on utilizing Hokkaido’s exceptional local ingredients, celebrating the region’s unique culinary specialties, and reflecting its rich cultural heritage.
This series has garnered a dedicated following for its commitment to quality and its celebration of Hokkaido’s produce.
The “Krispy Kreme Premium Hokkaido White Cheesecake” has been a consistent favorite within this premium line-up, since its initial launch in January 2023.
Its enduring popularity extends beyond just cheese aficionados, establishing itself as a sought-after “Hokkaido staple” amongst both locals and visitors seeking a taste of the region.
In this latest iteration, Krispy Kreme has elevated the flavour profile of the donut by incorporating new, locally sourced ingredients, creating a premium cheese-filled treat that will remain exclusive to their Hokkaido-based stores.
The enhanced “Krispy Kreme Premium Hokkaido White Cheesecake” now boasts the addition of two new key ingredients sourced directly from Hokkaido: “Cheese cream with Hokkaido mascarpone” and “White chocolate with Hokkaido milk”.
These new components join the existing recipe’s “Cheese cream” and “Parmesan cheese from Hokkaido”, creating a more complex and deeply layered cheese flavor experience.
The introduction of “Cheese cream with Hokkaido mascarpone” is designed to work seamlessly with the existing “Cheese cream”, while a generous topping of “Parmesan cheese from Hokkaido” adds a savory counterpoint to the cheese creams.
The addition of “White chocolate made with Hokkaido milk” introduces a subtle level of sweetness to the overall flavor profile.
The revamped donut will be available for purchase starting Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025, at five select stores within the Hokkaido region:
- Krispy Kreme “sitatte sapporo” store
- Krispy Kreme Sapporo Pole Town store
- Krispy Kreme Sapporo Le Trois store
- Krispy Kreme Chitose Outlet Mall Rera store
- Krispy Kreme Maruyama Class store.
An individual doughnut will be priced at 367 yen (approx. $2.60 USD / £1.94 GBP) for take-out while eating in-store will set you back 374 yen (approx. $2.65 USD / £1.98 GBP).
