Kaiyodo to release new and improved action figure of X-Men’s Cable
Kaiyodo has announced the upcoming release of the “Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi Cable Ver. 1.5” action figure.
This will see them update their previously released figure of the popular Marvel character.
Cable, whose real name is Nathan Summers, is a fan favorite character in Marvel Comics’ X-Men series.
He is the son of Cyclops (Scott Summers) and a clone of Jean Grey (Madelyne Pryor) who inherited powerful mutant abilities including telekinesis and telepathy.
Hailing from a bleak and dystopian future, Cable is a grizzled, battle-hardened soldier who travels back in time with the singular mission of altering the past.
His complex backstory, cybernetic arm and imposing physique have made him a popular figure in the X-Men comics.
Cable gained broader mainstream recognition with his live-action debut in the 2018 film Deadpool 2, where he also traveled through time to achieve his objectives, albeit with a more comedic foil.
The “Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi” series is specifically designed to capture dynamic and exaggerated poses in action figure form.
Figures in this line are characterized by their unique “Yamaguchi-style” articulation, named after sculptor Katsuhisa Yamaguchi, which employs strategically placed revolving joints to allow for an extraordinary range of motion without compromising the character’s sculpted proportions.
This “Ver.1.5” iteration of Cable reproduces his appearance from the comic books, emphasizing his sturdy and muscular build as well as adding additional effect parts and accessories not included with the original version of the figure.
The figure maintains the Amazing Yamaguchi line’s signature articulation, ensuring that despite his bulky frame, Cable can achieve a wide variety of dynamic poses.
The “Ver.1.5” update introduces two significant enhancements that allow for a more comprehensive portrayal of Cable’s mutant abilities:
- Psychokinesis Barrier Part: This new accessory features a movable support, enabling collectors to realistically depict Cable’s telekinetic powers such as creating protective shields.
- Left Eye Effect Part (Optic Blast Firing Mode): This specialized part allows the figure to simulate Cable’s optic blast, a powerful energy beam, visually representing the raw mutant power inherited from his parents.
A selection of other additional parts including alternate hands and weapons will also be included.
As a special incentive for pre-order customers, anyone who pre-orders the “Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi Cable Ver.1.5” figure directly from Kaiyodo’s official stores (Kaiyodo Online Store, Hobby Lobby Tokyo/Kadoma) will receive an exclusive bonus: an additional “screaming face” alternate head sculpt.
This updated rendition of the popular X-Men hero is set to launch in April 2026, with pre-orders currently open until March 31, 2026.
The figure will be priced at 13,200 yen (approx. $92.51USD /£68.54 GBP).
