Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami revealed as guest artist for new One Piece TCG cards

A major and unexpected collaboration was announced during the “ONE PIECE DAY ’25” event, which was recently held in Tokyo.
It was revealed that Gege Akutami, the creator of the massively popular manga series Jujutsu Kaisen, has provided guest artwork for the One Piece Card Game.

This announcement brings together two of the most successful and influential properties from the publisher Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine.
The new artwork was revealed in a special video for the upcoming booster pack, “Carrying On His Will [OP-13].”

Gege Akutami has drawn the illustrations for the “parallel rare” versions of the five cards representing the “Five Elders.”

The Five Elders are a council of the highest-ranking officials in the World Government, the primary antagonists of the One Piece saga.

The five characters drawn by Akutami are Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, Saint Marcus Mars, Saint Topman Warcury, Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, and Saint Shepherd Ju Peter.

The new booster pack, “Inherited Will,” is themed around the bond between the three brothers: Ace, Sabo, and Luffy.

It will also feature the first-ever card for the enigmatic final villain, Imu, as well as a new Leader Card for the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger.

A comment from Gege Akutami regarding the collaboration has also been released, which reveals how the artist came to draw the new card art:
“Towards the end of the serialization of Jujutsu Kaisen, I became ill and was at a loss as to what to do. Oda-sensei introduced me to a hospital, where I made a full recovery and managed to finish the series.”
“I couldn’t think of an appropriate gift to express my gratitude, so I decided to repay him through my work.”
“I was glad to draw the Five Elders, but I was shocked when I received the color specifications.”
“It was a refreshing experience to create the artwork using colors that I wouldn’t have come up with on my own.”
This crossover marks a rare occasion where the creator of one major manga series has officially drawn characters from another.
The “ONE PIECE Card Game Booster Pack – Carrying On His Will [OP-13]” is priced at ¥220 per pack.

It is scheduled to be released on Saturday, the 23rd of August, 2025.
The special video for “Carrying On His Will [OP-13]” has also been made available on YouTube.
