Japan’s Official Evangelion Motorcycle Rental Service Targets Tourists With Expansion Announcement

Motorcycle rental service Rental 819 has announced an expansion of their official collaboration with Evangelion that will aim to specifically target tourists.
The “Evangelion Racing × Rental 819 AIRPORT TOUR 2026” will allow fans to rent custom-wrapped motorcycles from retail locations situated near major airports across Japan.

Evangelion Racing is a real-life racing team that originally formed as a promotional tie-in with the Rebuild of Evangelion theatrical film series, and this nationwide expansion builds directly upon a highly successful trial run conducted at the Rental 819 Odaiba branch in Tokyo back in the autumn of 2025.

That original, single-location release generated massive traction and conversation across social media platforms, prompting the rental company to widen its geographic scope to meet fan demand.

While the previous event was locked to a single storefront, the upcoming 2026 tour will move through various transit hubs to serve travelers on their journeys.

By utilizing highly accessible locations right next to local airports, Rental 819 aims to transform standard vacation travel and holiday touring into an immersive riding experience for fans of the anime.Three different, custom-wrapped motorcycles will be available to rent, each mirroring the color schemes and visual aesthetics of Evangelion’s most iconic giant mecha:
- EVA Unit-01 Motorcycle

This model utilizes a Yamaha YZF-R7 as its base vehicle, featuring a purple, green, and black visual scheme inspired by the primary pilot vessel.

- EVA Unit-02 Motorcycle

This option relies on a Kawasaki Ninja 250, showcasing the bright red and orange signature plating of the second combat unit.

- EVA Unit-00 Motorcycle

This final variant is built upon a Honda CBR250RR, sporting the yellow, white, and grey aesthetic of the prototype unit.

The touring fleet will rotate through four different operational regions across Japan, making the vehicles available for a limited time in Hokkaido, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Kumamoto.

The scheduled dates and specific retail locations for the airport tour include:
- Rental 819 New Chitose Airport (Hokkaido)
- June 6, 2026, to July 5, 2026
- Rental 819 Osaka International Airport (Osaka)
