Initial D’s official Zippo lighter collection returns with its fifth limited edition design
Pre-orders have officially opened for a premium new ZIPPO lighter based on the legendary street racing manga Initial D.
The item is being released by the vehicle-themed lifestyle brand CAMSHOP, which has previously produced 4 other official Initial D-themed Zippo lighters, with the most recent released back in October.
This release celebrates the 30th anniversary of the series, which began serialization in 1995 and has sold over 56 million copies worldwide.
Initial D, created by Shuichi Shigeno, is a monumental work in the car action genre, known for influencing car culture globally with its depiction of mountain pass battles and the Toyota AE86.
The new lighter features a laser-engraved design of the protagonist, Takumi Fujiwara.
The new design captures a specific, passionate scene from the manga where Takumi declares, “Anyway, absolutely!! I want to win with this car!!”
The engraving uses delicate lines that cannot be reproduced by standard printing, adding a sense of luxury to the glossy gun-metallic body.
The body’s color changes between black and silver depending on the angle, contrasting beautifully with the calm texture of the laser etching.
This item is an extremely limited production run, and only 300 units will be produced worldwide.
Each lighter features a unique serial number (from 001/300 to 300/300) engraved on the side, though specific numbers cannot be chosen.
This release joins other recent 30th-anniversary merchandise for the franchise.
A collection of solar-powered chronograph watches was also recently announced, featuring designs based on the AE86, RX-7, and Sileighty.
The “Initial D ZIPPO” is priced at 16,500 yen (approx. $110.55 USD / £87.45 GBP).
Pre-orders are available now via the CAMSHOP online store, with orders likely to close soon based on expected high demand.
