Inazuma Eleven: Cross Announced for iOS and Android

LEVEL-5, known for popular franchises like Yo-kai Watch and Professor Layton, in partnership with developer Aiming, has officially announced a new title for smartphones: Inazuma Eleven: Cross.
The game is slated for release on both iOS and Android devices as a free download, supported by item-based in-app purchases.

The announcement was made public today, with an accompanying “INA-DAI” broadcast.
The new game is a simulation title that features an original story and introduces a completely new protagonist to the franchise’s universe.
Designed specifically for smartphone play, Inazuma Eleven: Cross boasts intuitive, command-based controls, making it easy for players to pick up and enjoy even during short play sessions.

Echoing the structure of the upcoming Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, players will assume the role of a coach.
Gameplay centers on strategic team building, deep strategizing, and match competition. During matches, players do not control individual characters but instead influence the outcome as a coach through team customization and crucial in-game decisions.
For less hands-on players, matches can also be configured to play automatically.

It is confirmed that the new protagonist’s personality will differ from Sasanami Unmei / Destin Bellows, the main character of Victory Road.
Aspiring players in Japan now have the opportunity to sign up for a closed beta test.
The sign-ups are currently available through the game’s official website.

This initial test phase is exclusively available in Japan and is strictly limited to 20,000 accepted users.
LEVEL-5 also clarified a point of data compatibility for existing fans.
Player data generated in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road will not be compatible with the newly announced Inazuma Eleven: Cross.

Instead, Victory Road player data is confirmed to be compatible only with a future sequel to Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road.
A definitive release date for the new game has not yet been confirmed.
