Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival 2024 to take place from 25th-27th October
The annual Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival is set to return this October, offering a three-day celebration for cosplay enthusiasts.
Over 20,000 cosplayers are expected to participate in the event, which will take place in the Ikebukuro area, with Naka-Ikebukuro Park serving as the main stage.
The event will include several stage events, including the “Nico Nico Cosplay Collection” and “Parent and Child Halloween” cosplay competitions, as well as the main “Ike Haro Cosplay Parade” which sees a huge number of cosplayers parade through the Ikebukuro area.
On the first day of the event (October 25th), there will be a special “Ikehalo Night” event at Ikebukuro Sunshine City, where attendees can enjoy cosplay more suited to evening situations and hold photo sessions which make use of the evening/night-time lighting.
Highlights of the festival include stage events, a cosplay parade, and nighttime activities at Ikebukuro Sunshine City.
Toshima Ward Mayor Miyuki Takagiwa will also be in attendance, emphasizing the significance of cosplay culture in Japan and the ward’s commitment to creating a safe environment for participants.
Participation in the event as a cosplayer or photographer is ticketed and event organizers recommend purchasing tickets as soon as possible as some date/ticket combinations have already sold out.
