Huge New Hatsune Miku Exhibition Focuses on One of Her Most Iconic Illustrators

A brand-new Hatsune Miku exhibition celebrating the work of acclaimed illustrator and designer iXima will open at Ikebukuro PARCO this August, giving fans the chance to experience the artist’s creations in an entirely new way.
Hatsune Miku, developed by Crypton Future Media, began as singing synthesis software that allows users to create songs by entering melodies and lyrics, before evolving into one of the world’s most recognizable virtual singers through music, live concerts, merchandise and countless fan-created works.

Alongside Hatsune Miku, Crypton’s Piapro Characters lineup also includes Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO and KAITO, all of whom have become popular figures across music, gaming and pop culture worldwide.

The “Hatsune Miku and Eko iXima’s Mixed Media Exhibition” will be iXima’s first-ever solo exhibition and explores the space where digital illustrations and the physical world meet through a variety of artistic techniques.

Originally from Osaka, iXima has been one of the defining artists behind the Piapro Characters since designing the packaging artwork for KAITO V3 in 2013 and has since created package illustrations and costume designs for releases including Hatsune Miku V3 through Hatsune Miku NT.

The artist has also produced official visuals for numerous Hatsune Miku projects, including the key visual for Hatsune Miku Magical Mirai 2017, while continuing to explore creative expression through hand-crafted artwork, doll costume design and life-sized figure supervision.

Visitors can expect a diverse collection of works combining hand-painted artwork, collage, installation pieces and digital illustration, creating an exhibition that blurs the line between artwork and reality while bringing Miku’s world closer to visitors.

The exhibition will feature one-of-a-kind pieces personally hand-finished by iXima using newly created illustrations, including the event’s key visual, alongside works produced using specialist printing techniques and layered acrylic printing that have been designed to complement each individual illustration.

Many of the displayed artworks will also be available for purchase, while a wide selection of exhibition-exclusive merchandise will be offered throughout the event.

Guests will receive one randomly selected Eko iXima greeting card from a set of three upon entry while supplies last.

Admission to the exhibition will be free, although advance reservations will be required for all visitors to help manage attendance throughout the event.
Reservations are now open through LivePocket, with bookings remaining available until 11:59 PM on the day before each visit date, subject to availability.

Hatsune Miku and Eko iXima’s Mixed Media Exhibition will be held at PARCO FACTORY on the seventh floor of Ikebukuro PARCO from August 22 through September 6, 2026, with opening hours of 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily, except for the final day when the exhibition will close at 6:00 PM, with final admission available 30 minutes before closing each day.
