Hololive unveils “Holoidle” – a new idle game featuring ex-member Gawr Gura

Hololive has officially announced the upcoming release of “Holoidle” a new idle game set to launch on Steam.
This relaxing title aims to provide fans with a new and fun way to interact with their favorite Hololive talents and help them achieve streaming stardom.

Hololive Production is one of the world’s leading virtual YouTuber (VTuber) agencies.
VTubers are online entertainers who use virtual avatars generated by computer graphics and motion capture technology.
Hololive talents are celebrated for their diverse personalities, engaging streams, musical endeavors, and often humorous interactions, cultivating a massive global fanbase across various platforms like YouTube.

Their “holoIndie” gaming brand specifically supports and promotes smaller, fan-made or derivative games featuring Hololive characters.
“Holoidle” is designed as an idle game centered around the broadcasts of Hololive talents.

Players will choose one of three popular Hololive members, Houshou Marine, Mori Calliope or Gawr Gura, and support their virtual streaming careers.

The core gameplay revolves around increasing their “influence” among viewers, with the ultimate goal of transforming them into top-tier broadcasters.

The game reveal comes shortly after significant news regarding one of the featured talents, Gawr Gura.
Gawr Gura was a prominent member of Hololive English who recently graduated from Hololive and left the agency citing differences with management as the reason she decided to leave.

Despite this recent departure, her inclusion in “Holoidle” highlights her continuing popularity and potentially indicates how long the game was in development, given that she only left recently.
A key mechanic in “Holoidle” involves spending “Holocoins”, an in-game currency earned through gameplay to draw “collaboration cards”.

These cards depict various parodies and illustrations of Hololive talents.
Players can equip their chosen character with up to six of these cards, each offering different effects and synergies that can significantly boost their influence.
This system encourages strategic thinking as players draw new cards and adjust their “decks” to optimize their influence gain.

Beyond the idle game mechanics, “Holoidle” incorporates elements of care and nurturing for the chosen VTubers.
Players can enhance the efficiency of their Holocoin earnings by keeping their chosen talent happy and motivated.
This is achieved through various activities such as cooking for them, cleaning their virtual rooms, decorating their spaces with unlockable furniture, and even “patting their heads”.

These charming interactions add a personal touch to the idle game experience, reinforcing the emotional connection fans have with the Hololive talents.
“Holoidle” will be available for purchase on Steam from June 6th for 580 yen and will support both English and Japanese languages, making it accessible to a wide range of Hololive fans.
International prices have not yet been announced but would be expected to be around $4 USD, £3 GBP and €3.50 EUR (depending on location) if prices remain in line with the Japanese price.
