Hatsune Miku’s next Gundam collab figure prepares for launch
A new prize figure is being released by Bandai Spirits as part of the ongoing “Gundam 45th Anniversary x Hatsune Miku” collaboration project.
The new product is a figure of Hatsune Miku wearing a “Zakugurumi,” a “kigurumi” or costume pajama, of the iconic MS-06 Zaku II mobile suit.
This unique design originates from a collaboration music video that was released as part of the anniversary celebration, which has since amassed over 2.68 million views on YouTube.
The crossover brings together two of Japan’s most famous and globally recognized pop culture properties in a charming and humorous fusion.
The new Gundam 45th Anniversary x Hatsune Miku Figure figure is non-articulated and pre-painted, standing at approximately 15 centimeters tall.
It shows the virtual singer Hatsune Miku dressed in a cute, green Zaku costume, complete with details such as the mono-eye sensor on the hood and realistic-looking seam lines.
As a “prize item,” this figure will not be available for direct purchase at retail stores within Japan.
It will be exclusively available to be won in crane games and other arcade machines.
The “Gundam 45th Anniversary x Hatsune Miku Figure – Zakugurumi [Hatsune Miku Ver.]” is a limited-time release.
It is scheduled to begin its rollout in amusement facilities across Japan starting from Thursday, the 4th of September.
The figure may be available from some hobby goods stores outside of Japan, though availability may vary due to licensing restrictions.
In the case of most Banpresto products, any international release typically takes place around 2 months after the initial Japanese arcade release.
