Hatsune Miku’s annual “SNOW MIKU” winter festival reveals full details for 2026
The full details have been announced for “SNOW MIKU 2026,” the annual festival that celebrates the Hokkaido-supporting character, Snow Miku.
This marks the 17th consecutive year for the popular event, which is held in partnership with the Sapporo Snow Festival.
This year’s theme is “Happy Patisserie,” with Snow Miku and her pet, Rabbit Yukine, being reimagined in new, patisserie-themed outfits.
The new costume design was chosen through a public contest held on the Piapro website, with the winning entry being a design by the artist cold_air.
A new main key visual, created by the popular illustrator buta, has also been released.
The artwork depicts the newly designed Snow Miku and Rabbit Yukine holding delicious-looking sweets.
A new theme song, “SHIAWASE FOR YOU!” by the acclaimed music creator Iyowa, has also been produced for the event, with a preview available in a new promotional video.
The main event for “SNOW MIKU 2026” will be held on Saturday, the 7th of February, and Sunday, the 8th of February, 2026, at the Wing Bay Otaru.
The venue will host various exhibitions, workshops, merchandise booths, and stage events, including a “Creator’s Market” music sales event.
In addition to the main Otaru event, a number of other collaborations will be held across Sapporo:
- Snow Miku Snow Sculpture
A traditional “Snow Miku” snow sculpture will be exhibited at the “2026 Sapporo Snow Festival” (Feb 4th – 11th).
- Snow Miku Train
A special, full-wrap “Snow Miku” tram will begin operating in Sapporo from the 15th of November, 2025, and will run until the 22nd of March, 2026.
To commemorate the festival, a limited-edition concept album, “Fukashigi Pralinège feat. Hatsune Miku,” will also be released.
The CD will feature the new theme song by Iyowa, as well as other original tracks.
Pre-orders for the CD began on Wednesday, the 22nd of October and pricing is as follows:
- Limited Edition CD: ¥2,600 (approx. $17.60 USD / £14.00 GBP)
- Limited Edition CD with 2-Layer Acrylic Board: ¥5,350 (approx. $36.20 USD / £28.80 GBP)
