Gundam Wing x Code Geass Crossover Manga Officially Launches Its First Chapter

Two of Sunrise’s most celebrated anime franchises have officially crossed paths as the first chapter of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing x Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – Menuet Zero has now been released.
The crossover celebrates two major milestones, bringing together the 30th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing and the 20th anniversary of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion in a completely new story that merges both universes into a shared history.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing originally debuted in 1995 and helped introduce a generation of international fans to the Gundam franchise through its story of five young pilots sent to Earth in advanced Mobile Suits to challenge an oppressive military regime.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion followed in 2006, becoming one of anime’s defining modern series thanks to its blend of political intrigue, strategic warfare, and the story of exiled prince Lelouch vi Britannia leading a revolution against the Holy Britannian Empire.

The crossover project was first teased during the Code Geass Project “To 20th” event held in December 2025, and now fans can finally get their first look at the story as the opening chapter officially launched on July 10.
The manga is illustrated by Tomofumi Ogasawara, whose previous work includes Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz – Glory of the Losers and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection, making him one of the few artists with extensive experience adapting both franchises.

Series creator and original Code Geass director Goro Taniguchi is responsible for the story, bringing one of the franchise’s key creative voices back to oversee the ambitious crossover.
Rather than treating the two series as separate universes, the manga places them within a single shared timeline that begins after the conclusion of Operation Meteor and the war between the Earth Sphere Alliance and the White Fang organization.

Although the intervention of the five Gundam pilots prevented total destruction and brought the conflict to an end, lasting peace proves short-lived as new political tensions quickly emerge.
With the Earth Alliance weakened by years of war, the long-dormant Holy Britannian Empire begins a rapid campaign of expansion across the globe.

Britannia eventually occupies Japan, whose enormous Sakura Dite reserves provide the empire with enough strategic resources to overwhelm even the powerful Mobile Suits that once dominated the battlefield.
The opening chapter begins shortly after the death of Prince Clovis during the events of Code Geass’ first season and also recreates the memorable scene in which Suzaku Kururugi is arrested, establishing the point where both stories begin to intertwine.

The first chapter of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing x Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – Menuet Zero is now available to read through Comic Newtype and KADOKAWA’s KadoComi platform.
Chapter 1 (Part Two) is scheduled to be released on July 21, 2026.
