Gundam SEED’s Upgraded Strike Freedom METAL BUILD Figure Joins Bandai’s Gundam Summer Festival

The METAL BUILD Strike Freedom Gundam
This is a fully assembled and painted METAL BUILD release rather than a Gunpla model kit, combining detailed ABS and PVC armor with die-cast components that give the figure additional weight and a premium metallic finish.

The figure stands approximately 19.5 cm tall and presents Strike Freedom Gundam with sharper proportions and additional detailing inspired by a Holy Knight concept.

Its white, blue, red, and gold color scheme is enhanced by painted surfaces and electroplated gold die-cast joints, creating a more luxurious appearance than an ordinary plastic model.

The design was supervised by Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny chief mecha animation director Satoshi Shigeta, with the finished figure emphasizing Strike Freedom Gundam’s elaborate wings and exposed golden frame.

All eight Super DRAGOON units can be removed from the backpack, with translucent parts used at their tips to add another layer of detail to the deployed weapons.

Dedicated support arms allow the DRAGOONs to be arranged around the figure in a radiating formation, making it possible to recreate one of Strike Freedom Gundam’s most recognizable full-combat displays.

The backpack and articulated wings can also be expanded into the Hi-MAT configuration, creating a significantly wider silhouette for airborne and Full Burst poses.

Strike Freedom Gundam is supplied with separate left and right High-Energy Beam Rifles that can be held individually or connected into a combined weapon measuring approximately 27 cm long.

The two waist-mounted railguns include an original METAL BUILD deployment mechanism, allowing the barrels to open and extend when recreating Strike Freedom Gundam’s Full Burst attack.

Two Beam Sabers and effect parts are included for close-combat displays, while the sabers can also be connected to reproduce the longer double-ended weapon configuration.

The figure also includes two Beam Shields featuring layered PET and molded plastic parts, giving the defensive effects greater depth than a single flat sheet.
Five pairs of interchangeable hands provide options for holding the rifles and sabers, deploying the Beam Shields, or displaying the figure in more expressive poses.

A dedicated display stand, connecting parts, DRAGOON support arms, and additional auxiliary supports are included to help manage the figure’s large backpack and create stable airborne displays.
