Gundam SEED’s Exclusive RG Blast Impulse Gundam Gunpla Kit Gets New US Re-Release
Image by Charlotte DavisAn exclusive Real Grade Gunpla kit based on Lunamaria Hawke’s Blast Impulse Gundam Spec II is officially returning for a new US re-release, giving builders another chance to add the heavily armed version of the Impulse to their collection.
The “RG 1/144 BLAST IMPULSE GUNDAM SpecⅡ” recreates the upgraded mobile suit used during the final battle of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, combining its subdued Spec II color scheme with the long-range weaponry of the Blast Silhouette.
The Impulse Gundam originally appeared in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY as Shinn Asuka’s modular mobile suit, using interchangeable Silhouette packs to shift between different combat roles without replacing the entire machine.
Lunamaria Hawke later pilots the upgraded Impulse Gundam Spec II in SEED Freedom, switching between its Blast, Sword, and Force Silhouettes as the movie’s final battle develops.
The Blast configuration emphasizes heavy ranged firepower, equipping the Impulse with a pair of large high-energy long-range beam cannons, Deluge hyper-velocity rail cannons, and beam javelins mounted across its extensive backpack.
Bandai recreated the Blast Silhouette with newly molded parts for this Real Grade release, adding dense mechanical detailing alongside articulated arms that allow the large beam cannons to be repositioned for different firing poses.
The beam cannon barrels can extend through a sliding mechanism that simultaneously opens hatches and deploys fins beneath each weapon, while the integrated beam javelins can be removed and equipped in both hands.
Its Deluge rail cannons can also move vertically and horizontally, while the kit includes the Type 35 Modified Prototype Railgun introduced in SEED Freedom alongside its high-energy beam rifle, mobile shield and two Folding Razor anti-armor knives.
The new re-release follows continued interest in the Impulse Gundam’s SEED Freedom forms, with both the Force Impulse Gundam Spec II and Premium Bandai-exclusive Sword Impulse Gundam Spec II offering alternative Real Grade configurations based on Lunamaria’s equipment during the movie.

Pre-orders for the exclusive “RG 1/144 BLAST IMPULSE GUNDAM SpecⅡ”, priced at $53, are now available through Premium Bandai US and are currently scheduled to remain open until January 16, 2027, at 2:59 AM EST, although orders may close early if the available allocation sells out.
Orders are currently expected to ship in February 2027.
