Gundam GQuuuuuuX takes over Shinjuku’s Kabukicho Tower for new collab event

A new event will see Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX partner with a landmark in one of Tokyo’s most popular districts.
The anime series will partner with Tokyu Kabukicho Tower for a special collaboration event running from June 12th to June 30th.

This extensive cross-promotion will feature exclusive merchandise, themed food menus within the tower, and a unique “train takeover” on the Tokyu Toyoko Line, operated by Tokyu Corporation who also own Kabukicho Tower.
Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, located in Shinjuku’s bustling Kabukicho district, is a modern entertainment complex housing various shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

The Gundam franchise is a cornerstone of Japanese animation, known for its futuristic mobile suits, dramatic narratives, and exploration of human conflict.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is the newest addition to this expansive universe, and this collaboration offers an immersive experience for fans within a prominent Tokyo landmark.

During the event, a special sales space on the second floor of Tokyu Kabukicho Tower (Tokyu Kabukicho Tower 2F Souvenir Shop, open 11:00 to 19:00) will offer a range of collaboration merchandise featuring newly drawn visuals created specifically for this event.
These visuals incorporate real-life settings of the tower as backgrounds.

Tokyu Toyoko Line Train Takeover
A significant part of this collaboration is the “train takeover” on the Tokyu Toyoko Line.
One 10-car Tokyu Toyoko Line 5050-4000 series train will be adorned with internal advertising featuring scenes from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, transforming the train interior into an immersive experience reflecting the anime’s world.

The special train is scheduled to run from June 6th (Friday) until late June 2025.
Its route will cover the extensive network connected to the Tokyu Toyoko Line, including the Sotetsu Main Line, Sotetsu Izumino Line, Sotetsu Shin-Yokohama Line, Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line, Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, Tobu Tojo Line, and Yokohama Minatomirai Line.
Passengers are advised not to inquire about the collaboration train with station staff, and operation is subject to change without notice due to potential timetable disruptions.
Social Media Campaign
An X (formerly Twitter) campaign is also underway to promote the collaboration. For the first phase, participants can enter a giveaway to win a complete set of 13 paper coasters (tenant food bonus items).
To enter, users must follow the official collaboration X account (@GQX_KABUKICHO) and repost the designated campaign post using the hashtag #GQuuuuuuX.
