Golden Kamuy Final Season’s Runaway Train Arc to Air This Winter
The final chapter of the Golden Kamuy anime is approaching as producers officially announced the upcoming Runaway Train Arc on March 30, 2026.
This climactic segment of the story is scheduled to premiere during the winter season of 2026.
A new teaser visual was released alongside the announcement to give fans a glimpse of the high-stakes locomotive battle that serves as the story’s endgame.
The series is set during the late Meiji Era in Hokkaido and follows Saichi Sugimoto, a veteran of the Russo-Japanese War known as Immortal Sugimoto.
Sugimoto teams up with a young Ainu girl named Ashiripa to hunt for a massive hoard of gold hidden by convicts from Abashiri Prison.
The search for the treasure relies on a map composed of tattoos found on the skins of escaped prisoners.
Shizutaka Sugahara is leading the production as chief director for this final portion of the series at the animation studio Brain’s Base.
The creative team also includes Noboru Takagi for series composition, Takumi Yamakawa for character designs, and Kenichiro Suehiro for the musical score.
The anime is based on the original manga by Satoru Noda, which was serialized from August 21, 2014, to April 28, 2022.
Fans can expect further updates on the exact broadcast dates and additional casting for the winter season as the premiere of the final arc draws closer.
