Godzilla Card Game Releases New “Resonance of Rivals” Booster Pack
Toho and Bushiroad have announced the release of the newest booster pack for the Godzilla Card Game, titled “Resonance of Rivals” (Koutekijyu no Kyoumei).
This latest expansion, released on Saturday, January 10, introduces several “firsts” for the trading card game.
The set marks the debut of multicolored “Kaiju Cards,” adding new strategic depth to gameplay.
Notable additions include the Red/Blue “Type-3 Kiryu,” the Blue/Green “Mothra,” and the Green/Red “Guardian Monsters.”
Collectors will be particularly interested in the inclusion of rare foil-stamped autograph cards signed by Yumiko Shaku, who played Akane Yashiro in the 2002 film Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla.
These signature cards are extremely limited, with only 100 copies available for the Japanese edition and 100 for the English edition worldwide.
The set also continues the tradition of featuring iconic movie posters on “Anger Cards.”
This booster includes eight new poster designs, covering the Heisei Mothra trilogy, available in both standard and parallel foil versions.
To celebrate the launch of “Resonance of Rivals”, two separate purchase campaigns are currently underway.
Customers who purchase three boxes of the booster pack at participating retailers will receive a foil “Mechagodzilla Hangar” promo card.
Alternatively, purchasing one box at the “Godzilla Store” (physical or online) rewards buyers with a “Anti-Gravity Beam” promo card.
The competitive scene for the game is also expanding with the announcement of the first-ever National Tournament.
Qualifiers will be held in major cities including Tokyo, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Sapporo, and Osaka, culminating in the National Finals on May 23, 2026.
Upcoming events also include “Godzilla Card Parties” for casual play and the “Godzica Fes 2026 Spring” to be held within the Card Game Festival 2026 at Tokyo Big Sight in May.
Looking ahead, the next booster pack, “Endless Wars,” has been confirmed for release on April 25, 2026.
