Ghost in the Shell’s Motoko Kusanagi’s Stars in New and Exclusive Official Merch Collection
A new Ghost in the Shell pop-up store has been announced to celebrate the franchise’s most recent anime, bringing exclusive merchandise and themed displays to fans in Tokyo and Kyoto.
Visitors can look forward to a collection of newly illustrated goods featuring Motoko Kusanagi in scenes inspired by her everyday life.
Ghost in the Shell is the iconic science fiction franchise created by Masamune Shirow, following Major Motoko Kusanagi and Section 9 as they investigate cybercrime and terrorism in a technologically advanced future where the line between humanity and machines continues to blur.
The merchandise lineup will include a variety of exclusive products including apparel, art prints, acrylic stands, accessories, stationery, and other collectible items created specifically for the event.
Life-sized character panels and large-scale artwork will also be displayed throughout the venues, allowing visitors to enjoy the new illustrations beyond the merchandise itself.
Customers who spend ¥3,000 or more (approx. $20 USD/ £16 GBP) during the event will receive one original sticker chosen at random from three available designs while supplies last.
The first venue will open at ART SQUARE inside Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore in Tokyo.
Fans will be able to visit the Ginza location from August 8 through August 27, 2026.
A second venue will then welcome visitors at Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstore, which will run from August 14 until August 27, 2026.
