Free ‘On the Trail’ DLC for Cairn Arrives August 13
Developer The Game Bakers announced on June 6, 2026, that the survival climbing adventure game Cairn will receive its first piece of free downloadable content titled On the Trail on August 13, 2026.
On the Trail: Deep Water is the first installment in a planned series of free expansions designed to expand the base game experience with new locations and challenges.
Players will follow the path of a legendary climber across three entirely new climbing areas included in the package.
The expansion introduces water soloing, a mechanic that allows climbers to scale cliffs over water bodies without the risk of a game-ending fall.
In addition to the new mechanics, the update expands character options by allowing players to climb with Marco or Aava instead of Marco remaining on the sidelines.
Cairn is currently available for purchase on PlayStation 5 and PC via the Steam platform.
