Starbucks Japan embraces flower power with new winter teas
Starbucks Japan will be embracing all things floral this winter as they are set to add three new tea based drinks to their menu.
Each drink has been inspired by flower bouquets created by international florist chain Aoyama Flower Market.
The Royal Earl Grey Bouquet Frappuccino® is a tea Frappuccino® made by blending bergamot-flavored Earl Grey with oolong tea and jasmine tea with chamomile, lavender, and juniper berry to enhance the flavor.
The Frappuccino® is topped with a fluffy pink lavender-flavored mousse with the intention that as you drink it, the flavors of the mousse and Earl Grey overlap and complement each other.
The finishing touch is a topping which combines two-colored feuilletines in pink and lavender, which resemble flower petals.
If you prefer hot drinks, the Royal Earl Grey Bouquet flavor is also available as a Tea Latte.
This tea latte is similar to Royal Milk Tea, a popular style of tea in Japan, combining Earl Grey tea and milk before being topped with fluffy foam milk and pink/lavender feuilletines.
Starbucks Japan have also announced the new Honey Ginger Chai Tea Latte.
This tea latte is made with black and white tea as a base, combined with ginger and cardamom, accented with orange flavor and combined with milk.
The refreshing flavor of orange blends well with the taste of ginger and cardamom, which add elements of mild spice and richness.
Honey and a sprinkling of orange peel chips are also used to top the drink.
You can also get the Honey Ginger Chai Tea Latte as an iced tea, so you can choose to enjoy it hot or cold, whichever is your preferred temperature.
For a limited time, Starbucks will set up also be setting up bouquets displays at four Starbucks stores in Hokkaido, Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka as part of photo spots where customers can take photos with their favorite drinks.
Stores that will have floral displays are:
- Starbucks Coffee Kokono Susukino store (Hokkaido)
- Omotesando Jingumae 4-chome store (Tokyo)
- LUCUA1100 2nd floor Atrium Garden store (Osaka)
- Tenjin Solaria Stage store (Fukuoka)
The bouquets at the photo spots in each store were created by Aoyama Flower Market and share the aroma and color of the Royal Earl Grey Bouquet Frappuccino® and Royal Earl Grey Bouquet & Tea Latte.
If you can’t make it to any of those four stores, smaller stands will be available at all Starbucks stores in Japan (with some exceptions) where customers can take photos with their drinks.
These new drinks will be available from 26th December 2024 for a limited period.
