Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.3 details confirmed as early August release announced
Final Fantasy XIV Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida and Global Community Producer Toshio “Foxclon” Murouchi have confirmed that Patch 7.3 for FFXIV: Dawntrail will arrive in early August 2025.
The announcement came during the latest Letter from the Producer Live LXXXVII broadcast, offering a glimpse into the content players can anticipate as the 7.3 patch series begins.
While general details were shared, a precise schedule for all updates within the patch series has not yet been released. Further information is expected in upcoming Letter from the Producer Live events.
Final Fantasy XIV, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), has gained significant popularity for its expansive world, compelling narrative, and consistent content updates.
Dawntrail is the game’s latest expansion, continuing the saga of the Warriors of Light in the new continent of Tural. Patch 7.3 will serve as a significant continuation of this new chapter.
Yoshida and Murouchi provided a rundown of the key additions coming with Patch 7.3:
- New Deep Dungeon: “Pilgrim’s Traverse” will launch, accompanied by a secret Duty for players to uncover.
- New Dungeon: A new instanced dungeon, “The Meso Terminal,” will be added for players to explore.
- New Trial: A new challenge will be introduced with both Normal and Extreme difficulties, though its name remains undisclosed.
- The Wreath of Snakes (Unreal) Trial: A new Unreal difficulty trial will challenge players.
- New Treasure Dungeon: “Vault Oneiron” will become available for those seeking hidden treasures.
- Main Scenario Quests (MSQ): The primary storyline introduced in Dawntrail will progress with new quests.
- Allied Society Quests: Players will find new questlines for the Yok Huy faction in the region of Tural.
- Hildibrand Adventures: The comedic side-story featuring the gentleman inspector Hildibrand will receive another installment, titled “Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures.”
- Final Fantasy XI Collaboration – Echoes of Vana’diel Part 2: This crossover event will continue in the second part of Patch 7.3, featuring “San d’Oria: The Second Walk,” a new Alliance Raid. Screenshots shown during the broadcast included the character Prishe from Final Fantasy XI.
- Crystalline Conflict PvP Updates: A new arena, “Bayside Battleground,” will debut for Crystalline Conflict. Additionally, the player-versus-player (PvP) mode will see new tiers introduced: Unranked, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Crystal, Omega, and Ultima, with the top three tiers determined by Crystal Credit.
- Cosmic Exploration: Phaenna will be added as a new “Cosmic Exploration Star.”
- Weapon Enhancement: Quests will be introduced for enhancing “Phantom Weapons.”
Beyond the new content, Patch 7.3 will introduce some quality-of-life updates for players.
Optional Chat Bubbles will be added, allowing players more customization over their chat display.
The “Whiteboard” feature, which was previously teased, is now confirmed to be part of the subsequent Patch 7.4.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
The FFXIV patch 7.3 update is scheduled to arrive in early August 2025.
